Who killed Muhammad Kirumira?

Kirumira was killed amid a bitter dispute with the Police leadership at the time. Senior security officials familiar with the matter told New Vision that investigators are re-examining intelligence reports generated around the time of Kirumira’s killing. The inquiry has brought renewed scrutiny to several high-profile attacks, including the 2016 assassination of Maj. Muhammad Kiggundu, Kirumira’s murder in 2018, the killing of former Arua Municipality MP Ibrahim Abiriga and the attempted assassination of public service minister Gen. (Rtd) Katumba Wamala.

Kirumira was killed amid a bitter dispute with the Police leadership. In February 2018, Flying Squad Unit officers arrested him at his home in Bulenga over disciplinary allegations linked to his tenure as officer-in-charge of Nansana Police Station.
