Moses Matovu murder: Suspected hitman nabbed
Security sources revealed that one Vicent Nsamba was arrested from a hideout in Wakiso on Thursday evening, about 10 hours after the September 24 dawn murder.

Police in Kampala has confirmed that the main suspect in the murder of Afrigo band legend Moses Matovu has been arrested.
Security sources revealed that one Vicent Nsamba was arrested from a hideout in Wakiso on Thursday evening, about 10 hours after the September 24 dawn murder.
Uganda Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, in a post on social media X stated, "Suspect in police hands. Big up to our team! Details to follow".
Meanwhile, Rose Tumusiime, the 26-year-old woman held over the murder, remains in detention to assist detectives investigating the killing.
The 77-year-old director and founder member of Afrigo Band founder died on Thursday morning (September 24) after he was attacked by a yet-to-be-identified man at Kibuli Market Zone B in Kampala. Picked from her home in the same zone, Police said the woman identified as Tumusiime is detained Kabalagala Police Station.

Racheal Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, says that Tumusiime will stay in custody as they seek to unravel what exactly transpired on the fateful Thursday morning when Matovu was attacked near his car moments after walking out of Tumusiime's house.
Earlier reports on Thursday evening had indicated that the Tumusiime had been transferred to Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) headquarters in Kibuli for further questioning.
This was after detectives on Thursday morning reconstructed the scene of crime for over six hours and collected what they deemed necessary in their murder investigations.
Preliminary police findings indicate that Matovu, who went to the woman’s residence at about 5:00am, was hit at about 5: 30 am as he walked to his car 8in company of Tumusiime.

It is alleged that as they reached the car, they were confronted by the male suspect who police said had previously been in a relationship with her.
Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the confrontation and subsequent death had not yet been fully established.
The suspect is alleged to have followed the two to the house and knocked on the door, but they reportedly did not open. He allegedly waited for them from outside.
When Matovu and Tumusiime later walked towards Matovu’s vehicle, a Land Rover registration number UAR 982H, the suspect allegedly attacked them, first assaulting the woman before turning to Matovu.

The eyewitness said Matovu intervened after seeing the woman being attacked and demanded to know why the man was assaulting her.
The suspect allegedly struck Matovu, causing him to fall to the ground, before fleeing the scene.
A boda boda rider, assisted by local residents, rushed Matovu to Kibuli Hospital with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead.
