KAMULI - The third recruitment exercise for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) in Busoga region recorded a total of 248 recruits at the close of the exercise.
The exercise, which concluded on Thursday at Kamuli Youth Centre in Kamuli district, attracted recruits from the districts of Kamuli, Buyende and Kaliro, which were handled in different phases.
The successful completion of recruitment in Kamuli, Buyende and Kaliro marks an important milestone for Team 3 in its efforts to achieve the targeted recruitment slots for the Busoga region.
“Across the three districts of Kamuli, Buyende and Kaliro, at the third recruitment centre, a total of 248 candidates, including 43 females, applied from both professional and regular categories.”
“The huge turnout recorded at the recruitment centres demonstrates the strong interest among young people in the Busoga region to join the UPDF and serve the country. The availability of a large pool of applicants also enabled the recruitment team to maintain a competitive selection process and identify candidates who met the required criteria.”
