"We are looking at methods of improving recovery beyond the 1.4 billion barrels. So, it is not a static figure that we shall stop at 1.4 billion,” Sserubiri said. 

A draft National Petroleum Policy has been developed by a multi-institutional committee over the past year. Consultations with key stakeholders in the country will be undertaken to start next month.
