UCU dean of students attacked, murdered at home
"It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved colleague, sister, and friend, Dean of Students UCU, Pamela. Her life was brutally cut short by thugs who broke into her home last night and attacked her. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries this morning in the hospital," the statement said.
The university said Pamela (Pictured) was the youngest dean of students, a beacon of kindness, compassion and strength, who touched countless lives at UCU and beyond.
MUKONO - The dean of students at Uganda Christian University, Pamela Tumwebaze, was attacked and murdered by thugs at her home in Mukono on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the university announced her death.
"It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved colleague, sister, and friend, Dean of Students UCU, Pamela. Her life was brutally cut short by thugs who broke into her home last night and attacked her. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries this morning in the hospital," the statement said.
The university said Pamela was the youngest dean of students, a beacon of kindness, compassion and strength, who touched countless lives at UCU and beyond.
"Her warmth, empathy, and listening ear endeared her to many, and she will be deeply missed. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched," the statement noted.
UCU extended its heartfelt condolences to her family, the university community, friends and loved ones.
The university said details of her send-off would be shared soon.
By press time, police from Mukono, together with scene of crime officers, were at the scene trying to establish exactly what happened.
