Sh53b fraud: Probe extends to districts
The latest report by the Inspectorate of Government (IG) shows that Uganda loses about sh9.7 trillion annually to corruption, mainly through non and under-declaration of taxes, employees getting paid yet they do not work, inflated payrolls, and botched procurement processes, among others.

KAMPALA - President Yoweri Museveni has ordered the Police’s Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) to widen investigations into the over sh53b financial scandal to districts.
Over 30 senior officials from
