Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Parish Nabbingo is now 82 years old. The vibrant parish was founded by the White Fathers (also called Missionaries of Africa) in 1942.
The grand celebration for the parish’s 82nd anniversary took place at the parish-church at Nabbingo (9 Miles on the Kampala-Masaka Road) in Wakiso district on May 31, 2024.
The function was presided over by the Vicar-General of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala (who is also the parish-priest of the cosmopolitan Christ the King Church Kampala), the Rt Rev Msgr Gerald Kalumba (who represented Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere).

During the highly spectacular function, Msgr Kalumba wedded seven couples. The Prelate also confirmed 892 children into the Roman Catholic faith.
The Prelate’s Message
Delivering his homily during the thanksgiving mass, Msgr Kalumba paid tribute to the Christians of Nabbingo for their devotion and active participation in the activities of the parish.
He congratulated them with even greater gratitude for facilitating the development of the parish.
The Prelate also congratulated the couples that he wedded before putting it to the spouses to be true to the marital principles of mutual love, mutual trust and mutual help which he said are reflected clearly in the marital vows they had just taken during mass.
Kalumba also counselled the newly confirmed children, urging them to be gallant soldiers of Jesus, who live out and proclaim faith in their words and actions.
