KAMPALA - The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Alex Mukasa, a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala who succumbed to cancer at Nsambya Hospital at the dawn of Wednesday (November 10), will be laid to rest at Rubaga Cathedral on Friday (November 12). 

The funeral activities will start with a mass presided over by the Apostolic Administrator, the Rt. Rev. Bishop Paul Ssemwogerere, at 12:00pm.

According to sources from the Church, the body of Msgr. Mukasa will be delivered to Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church, Nabbingo, on Thursday (November 11, at exactly 10:00am. 

There will subsequently be Eucharistic celebrations and a vigil. 

On Friday (November 12), the body will be taken to Rubaga Cathedral for burial.

The Rt. Rev Msgr. Alex Mukasa has been one of the senior priests of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala. 

He served the Church in various capacities. He was Secretary General of the Uganda Episcopal Conference. 

He served as the Rector of St. Mbaaga’s Major Seminary Ggaba. Prior to his death, he was a Senior Secretary at the Chancery of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala. 

He was a resident prelate at the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Visitation, Nabbingo (in Wakiso district).
