Internal Affairs Minister, Gen. David Muhoozi, has asked police officers to protect government programmes such as the Parish Development Model (PDM).

He made the call on Tuesday while presiding over the passout of probation police constables and immigration control officers at Kabalye Police Training School in Masindi.

A total of 3,444 probation police constables and 53 immigration control officers were passed out after undergoing nine months and three months of training, respectively.

Muhoozi stated that PDM has been constrained by petty thieves, including theft of animals.

He also appealed to the PPCs to coordinate with other sister security agencies, including the UPDF and Prisons, while executing their duties.

ACP Ezekiel Emitu Ebapu, the commandant of Kabalye Police Training School, said the graduates have undergone vigorous training since July last year and are now ready to serve the country.

He said they have been equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and values to perform their duties effectively and ethically serve their communities.

Emitu tasked the graduates with being confident, strong and believe in their abilities so as to succeed in their assignments.
