Masindi District Council on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, held a special council session to pay tribute to the slain health officer Dr. Jino Abiriga.
According to the Masindi District Council speaker, Moses Kiirya, Dr. Abiriga was a distinguished servant who served the district since he joined in 1999 up to Saturday when he met his death.
Kirya told a Vision Group radio station, Kabalega FM that councillors will be accorded time to eulogize Abiriga from 11:00am to 1:00PM at the district chambers and that thereafter, the body will be taken to Marcha District.
According to the program released on Monday by the Masindi district LCV Cosmas Byaruhanga, Dr Abiriga who worked at Masindi General Hospital since 1999, will be buried on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his ancestral ground in Tumvia village, Ofude Parish, Tara Sub County, Maracha district, in the West Nile subregion.
