MASINDI - The relatives of the murdered Acting Masindi District Health Officer (DHO), Dr. Jino Abiriga, are demanding justice.
Dr. Abiriga was discovered dead on Sunday near his gate in Kijura North Cell, Central Division, Masindi Municipality.
His body sustained deep cuts, an indication that he could have been murdered in cold blood.
Hellen Alioru, daughter of the deceased, asked security to thoroughly investigate the case and bring the suspects to face the law.
Henry Atamati, a brother to the deceased also demanded justice while Jully Edomasia, and Joel Drapari, who were adopted by Dr Abiriga recounted how the deceased sacrificed for their education.
Dr Abiriga, who has worked at Masindi General Hospital since 1999, will be buried on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at his ancestral home in Tumvia village, Ofude Parish, Tara Sub County, Maracha district, in West Nile subregion.
