NEC FC‘s performance away from home this season has been good. They have won three of their last four. Can they maintain the same momentum against Kitara at Buhinga Stadium which has been turned into a fortress?

Kitara who has not won any of the last three games including losing at home against the Maroons will have to revive their season.  The Royals who have already beaten KCCA and UPDF at home believe they can replicate the same.

They come into the game on the back of of 2-1 loss to leaders BUL 2-1, NEC settled for a 1-1 draw with Wakiso Giants.

Kitara coach Brian Ssenyondo has urged his side to find out how the team will negotiate past NEC on their turf.

“We need to try and bounce back to our winning ways. Our ambition is to be a strong side and we want to transform the same energy on the pitch. And when you look at the previous two games we have played away from home our performance has not been bad. We tried to play but we only failed to capitalise on the chances we created. But we feel this has been addressed,” stated Ssenyondo.

By press time, Kitara and NEC were third and fourth with 16 points each although Kitara had a better goal difference. However, with different games having been played on Friday, the standings are likely to have changed.

NEC who have had inconsistent performances will have to be at their best if they want to stop hungry Kitara.

Their coach Hussein Mbalangu has cautioned his players to prepare for a tough challenge.

"We need to bounce back. We are playing a good side but I believe we can get a result. We need to stick to our game plan. We understand we are away from home but we have managed to win games away before,” noted Mbalangu.

Elsewhere, the Maroons will host Mbarara City at Luzira. Maroons who defeated Express 1-0 in their previous game away, will be returning to winning ways at home. Maroons lost to NEC 1-0 at home and they believe the victory against Express motivated them.

Defender Patrick Bayiga was the heart of Maroons defence against Express and will be expected to shine again just like Solomon Walusimbi among others. However, Mbarara City comes into the game after going three games without a win. They settled to goalless and 1all draw against SC Villa and Soltilo Bright Stars. They also lost to Gaddafi 2-1.

Coach Wasswa Bbosa will be expected to fight hard to pick a result from a ground that has seen many teams tormented from there.
