Officials from the Office of the Inspector General of Government IGG have picked up the former Arua LC5 chairman, Alfred Okuonzi and his son, Stephen Pariyo, over allegations of selling a government DT motorcycle with registration number UFA 401N, white in colour.

Two other brokers were also arrested alongside the chairman and his son for advertising and finding the market for the motorcycle. They are Felix Anguzu and Sisto Aleni.

The buyer whose details were not availed by IGG reportedly paid Sh6 million in two instalments. Sources close to the investigations state that detectives on Tuesday were deployed at Rose Villa Hotel, where  Pariyo and the brokers were nabbed.

Okuonzi was picked up on Friday, October 30, morning after IGG officials called him to report to their Arua Office.  One of the investigators who chose anonymity said that the suspects were taken to the IGG head office in Kampala for further questioning.

On Friday, Alfred Okuonzi appeared at the IGG Office in Arua after he was summoned to report. He was later brought to Arua City Central Police Station, where the other suspects were detained and later the four were picked up from the CPS and driven in a white government drone to Kampala IGG headquarters.

Okuonzi is reported to have got the motorcycle registered in the name of Arua District as property of government during his tenure when he was the LC5 Arua (2021 to 2026).

The four are accused of selling government property, and the said DT motorcycle was valued at sh 6.5 million. The motorcycle details are DT 125 YAMAHA UFA 401N.

According to the details of the sale agreement, Pariyo (Okuonzi's son) acknowledged receipt of the sh2 million on October 17, 2026, as the first deposit for the DT motorcycle. The said money was paid on account number 1023101025361 on October 17, 2026, as a deposit for the purchase of Motorcycle DT 125 registered with number UFA 401N.

Another amount of sh4 million was paid in the same account for the motorcycle on October 20, 2026, at 4:00 pm, adding to sh6 million. The balance of sh 500,000 was paid on Tuesday at Rose Villa Hotel from where the two brokers and the son of Okuonzi were picked.
