Low prices of cassava and poor yields for other crops due to harsh weather have for long hampered the dream of Cuthbert Okongole 35, of acquiring a motorcycle that would ease mobility for his family.

A father of five has faced it rough to access a health centre whenever a child or he falls sick and as such, he kept on farming hoping that one day, his suffering will end when he registers a good harvest to facilitate him getting money to buy means of transport.

“Whenever I cultivate cassava, the proceeds have never gone halfway of the motorcycle price of shs5.5m, as a family man, attending funerals as well as accessing health facilities for mediation of children on time has for long been a big hurdle for me,” Okongole confessed.

After several failed attempts in farming to raise the required money to buy a motorcycle, Okongole heard about Enyadu promotion on Etop radio for the listeners to win a motorbike.

With dry cassava amounting to sh400,000 in the house, Okongole shared with his wife Anna Grace Amucu to take a risk to sell cassava for taking part in playing Enyadu game.

The couple is a typical example of a risk taker! With their hard earned money at hand, which should have helped them settle fees for their children, they instead entered into Enyadu promotion in December last year.

“Before we took part in the game, we held the longest prayers ever in our home and God listened to our prayers and we emerged winners of brand-new TVs and motorcycle,” Amucu said.

Like them, Simon Peter Opera from Awaliwal sub-county Soroti district risked staking sh120,000 for playing the Enyadu game.

I took part in the game using the money that I didn’t borrow or steal. I also had strong faith in God to favour me,” Opera said at the Etop office.

Beaming with smiles, the two winners received their motorcycles from Patrick Oluk, the deputy programme manager, on Thursday afternoon. Opera hopes to start a boda boda business.

Since last year, the station has given out five motorcycles to its listeners. Etop is partnering with Nature Creates in rewarding the listeners.

Stella Ipas, the station programs manager, said that the radio is set to give out sh20m in March.

“March is a month for celebrating women, and we sought it befitting to reward our women. Two women will win shs8m each while sh4m will be shared with others with each getting sh80,000,” Ipas said.

For one to take part in the Enyadu game, type *238*3*5# and follow the prompts.
