Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma named 14th king of Tooro

Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma was Wednesday (September 9) named as the successor of the late Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
A news anchor and editor at UBC TV, Kijanangoma is now set to ascend the throne following the death of Oyo at the age of 34.
Oyo, who himself took the throne at the tender age of three after the death of his father Patrick Olimi III in 1995, will be laid to rest this Saturday (September 12) — the same date he officially became king 31 years ago.
Kijanangoma will now take over as the 14th monarch of Tooro.
