Busoga celebrates 12 years of Kyabazinga Gabula

Busoga is today (September 19) celebrating the 12th Coronation Anniversary of Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV.

Celebrations are at the Mayuge District Headquarters grounds.

The Kyabazinga has set off with his entourage from his Igenge Palace and is going to the celebration venue in Mayuge.

​Government officials, led by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, joined cultural leaders and dignitaries at the Mayuge district headquarters to celebrate the 12th Coronation Anniversary of the Kyabazinga of Busoga.

​The Monarch made a grand procession from his Igenge Palace at noon, waving to crowds of subjects who lined the streets.

Upon arrival at the venue, he was received by the 3rd Deputy Prime Minister alongside Kingdom officials, led by Busoga Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muvawala.

​Clad in full royal regalia, the Kyabazinga was escorted by Cultural Minister Richard Mafumo to sound the traditional Royal Drums before taking his throne.

As part of the ceremonial procession, the King walked through the grounds to greet his subjects and prominent guests, including Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga, the Minister for the Presidency Milly Babalanda, Busoga Royal Chiefs, and various cabinet ministers.
