It was fanfare and celebrations as enthusiastic Christians received Bishop George Kasangaki of Masindi Kitara Diocese at the border with Nebbi Diocese at Anyirubu in Madi Oyibu Archdeaconry on Friday.
Bishop Charles Collins Andaku received his entourage, including six archdeacons, and youth groups.
The team later had to stop over to greet the Christians of Vurra archdeaconry, Arua urban archdeaconry, and finally arrived at Madi & West-Nile diocese headquarters where Bishop George Kasangaki planted a tree as a symbol of unity in the Anglican Church.
A grand dinner was later hosted in their honour at Bishops’ place at Madi & West Nile diocese.
Godfrey Nasser, the diocesan secretary for Madi & West Nile diocese told New Vision Online that the two-day visit will focus on partnership establishment between the two dioceses.
Different joint activities this weekend include seminars on children's rights at the Old Emmanuel Cathedral and on Sunday, the two bishops will preside over the ordination of 15 deacons, who will be ordained to the order of priesthood.
Bishop Charles Collins Andaku thanked the team for the cordial relationship between Madi and West Nile diocese and Masindi Kitara diocese.
