A Ugandan national, Israel Kaddu Tommy, has been found dead in his apartment in Frankfurt, Germany.
Kaddu, who was living in the Griesheim area, is believed to have died alone. The circumstances surrounding his death have not yet been made clear.
Members of the Ugandan community in Germany have since launched efforts to trace his family, saying they have no information about his next of kin. Appeals have been circulating on social media, urging anyone who knows his relatives to come forward so they can be informed.
Community leaders say they are working with relevant authorities to establish contact with his family and determine the next steps, including burial arrangements.
The case has also drawn attention to the challenges faced by Ugandans living abroad, especially those without close community ties, which can make it difficult to reach relatives in cases of death or emergencies.
However, when contacted, the Ugandan embassy in Germany said it was notified by the local police after the death and asked to confirm the deceased’s identity. Kaddu is believed to have died at the age of 79.
