Shorter, safer effective Post Kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis treatment found

PKDL can develop after someone has been treated for visceral leishmaniasis (VL) also known as kala-azar a neglected tropical disease that is transmitted by the bite of a sandfly which causes fever, weight loss, and intense fatigue.

Scientist have found a new, shorter, safer and more effective treatment for Post Kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL), a stigmatising neglected disease in Eastern Africa.
