Malaria-linked kidney injury triples child death risk — study
Researchers found that the increased risk of death persists years after apparent recovery from severe malaria, highlighting what experts describe as a hidden but potentially life-threatening consequence of the disease. The study followed 1,077 children treated for severe malaria at Mulago Hospital and Jinja Regional Referral Hospital for up to 15 years.
