As of December 2024, Uganda had 1.5 million people living with HIV. Of these, 94% knew their status, 90% were on treatment, and 97% had achieved viral suppression. However, children are lagging behind. Only 80% of children aged 0-14 have been tested, leaving 20% without access to care and treatment.
According to the 2025 National HIV Estimates Report, Uganda’s HIV prevalence has declined from 5.1% (December 2023) to 4.9% (December 2024).
