“We still have parents in this country who believe in witchcraft and sorcery. Some even engage their children in such evil acts,” Church of Uganda Archbishop Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu says.
He says it’s the responsibility of parents to pray for their children while raising them in the ways of the Lord rather than dedicating them to the devil. Remember, God reigns supreme.
Kaziimba made the remarks while officiating over the dedication service of senior four and six candidates at Muzza High School located in Kabembe, Mukono district on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

During the examination period, Kaziimba says, some parents give fetishes to their children with the assurance that they will help them pass exams. On a sad note, children rely on that false hope and refuse to read only to regret when they fail the exams and their colleagues who trusted in God while reading hard, pass with flying colours.
On that note, Kaziimba turned to the candidates and warned them against such acts. He said success is a combination of trusting in God and working hard.
“Don’t stop at praying but read hard as well. That’s the formula for success. Remember, God helps those who help themselves,” he added.
But also, Kaziimba reminded the candidates to respect their parents because it’s the major source of blessings.
In the same vein, Mukono diocese Bishop, Enos Kitto Kagodo lauded the school management led by Wilson Mukiibi Muzzanganda for prioritizing quality education and being keen on churning out morally upright students who are also all round.
Also, Bishop Emeritus William Ssebaggala prayed for the candidates to be brave, focused and well-composed while writing their exams. He quoted the Bible that warns against fear which is man’s first enemy.

On the other hand, Annet Tusiime the headmistress said, this year they have prepared 86 candidates to sit the O-level exams and 84 to sit senior six and they anticipate good performance.
Meanwhile, before the dedication mass, Kaziimba first opened the state-of-the-art boy’s complex. He urged the students to utilize the modern facilities and serene environment at the school to excel in their studies.
The function was also attended by officials from the central government and Buganda Kingdom including Saabaganzi Emmanuel Ssekitoleko and Namasole Damalie Nantongo Muganzi among others.
