Makerere students invited to apply for six Erasmus+ traineeship placements in Italy
The selected students will undertake a two-month traineeship at the University of Perugia during either the 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 academic year. The programme also provides two travel days for participants.

Makerere University students pursuing agriculture and veterinary-related programmes have an opportunity to compete for six funded Erasmus+ traineeship placements at the University of Perugia in Italy.
According to a call issued by Makerere University’s International Relations Office, the exchange is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme and aims to strengthen students’ academic, professional and intercultural skills through international mobility.
The selected students will undertake a two-month traineeship at the University of Perugia during either the 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 academic year. The programme also provides two travel days for participants.
Eligibility
The opportunity is open to registered Makerere University students enrolled in crop and livestock production, veterinary science, and interdisciplinary programmes involving agriculture, forestry, fisheries and veterinary sciences.
Applicants are expected to meet all eligibility requirements outlined in the official call before submitting their applications. Only six students will be selected for the funded exchange programme.
Successful applicants will receive practical workplace training at the University of Perugia, one of Italy’s public universities, giving them an opportunity to strengthen their professional skills, broaden their international exposure and enhance their research capacity.
