Govt confirms 400 teachers as 2,800 others wait in queue

As part of the exercise, the Education Service Commission, the recruitment agency for secondary schools, has finally confirmed the first cohort of 439 teachers, the majority of whom are serving at seed schools.

The list also includes teachers who have served for over a year and have never been confirmed as permanent and pensionable.

KAMPALA - The Government has started the process of confirming 3,281 secondary school teachers, who were recently recruited for both seed schools and as replacements for retired teachers, into the public service.

As part of the exercise, the Education Service Commission, the recruitment agency for secondary schools, has finally confirmed the first cohort of 439 teachers, the majority of whom are serving at seed schools.

The list also includes teachers who have served for over a year and have never been confirmed as permanent and pensionable.
