The District Education Officer (DEO) of Bukedea, Stephen Okurut, has called on parents and guardians of candidate students to actively participate in the ongoing UNEB registration exercise to ensure accurate biodata is recorded.
Okurut’s appeal comes as schools across Uganda register students for the 2025 national examinations, including the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
He stressed that the involvement of parents and guardians is essential to confirm correct spellings and the order of candidates’ names as they appear on birth certificates, and to ensure dates of birth are captured in the prescribed format.
The registration exercise began on April 1, 2025, and ends on May 31, 2025.
According to UNEB, late registration, which attracts a 100% surcharge fee, will begin on June 1, 2025, and end on July 30, 2025.
