KAMPALA - Nnaabagereka Sylivia Nagginda (the Queen of Buganda) has implored Ugandan students studying under International Curriculum to learn more than one language in order to cope with the changing world.
Nnaabagereka cited the case of their classmates from Europe, whom she said, among others, speak their indigenous languages and learn English as an additional language.
“I'm sure you have friends from Sweden, Germany, Portugal, they speak and read, they read in their languages, English is just one of the languages they know.”
She made the remarks during her interaction with participants at the ongoing Ekisaakaate Kya Nnaabagereka "international session", hosted at Kabojja International School, located in Buziga, Makindye Division in Kampala City.
The queen commended parents who enrolled their children on this year’s Ekisaakaate Kya Nnaabagereka International happening during the summer school break.
While at the complex, Nnaabagereka inspected the school facilities during a guided tour conducted by the Director of the School, Hajj Ahmed Lwasa.

She inspected the recreation area that has a side, gym, dancing hall, a Boarding house, Cambridge classes, amongst others.
During the tour, she threw students into a frenzy when she agreed to take photographs (selfies) with the participants.
This mentorship session began on July 3, 2025, under the theme “ Leveraging Technology and Culture”, and it will be closed on July 12, 2025.
The participants were grouped into two groups, including Butikkiro and Bulange.
Sonia Kawooya was sworn in to lead Butikkiro and is deputised by Aggrey Wunyi. Talitha Tyra Kasenge is the leader of Bulange. Patrick Mukiibi is her deputy.
Lwasa thanked Nnaabagereka for allowing the institution to host this year’s session and pledged that they are open to any other opportunity to host it.
“We’re delighted to host Nnaabagereka on this major cause. Royal enclosure values resonate with our very values, which is why we’re very happy. We pledge that we shall be ready to host and aid in training this country’s children for bright future, any time,” said Hajj Lwasa.

Kabojja International School began in 2008 with the High School Section, which was later followed by the Junior School Section in 2012.
It pays more attention to values and virtues, including: Compassion, Empathy, Honesty, Integrity and Responsibility.
Hajj Lwasa used this opportunity to call upon all schools undertaking an international curriculum in Uganda to always plan for this period and bring children to be mentored in good morals.
Children showcased to Nnaabagereka some of the activities they have been taken through, including presentations about Mental Health wellness presented by Kirabo Mulema.
The Social Services Minister, who is also in charge of Nnaabagereka’s Office, Coltlida Nakate Kikomeko, lauded Nnaabagereka for initiating this program that has empowered the Ugandan youth, stating that its multiplier effect is remarkable.
It’s run by Nnaabagereka Development Foundation with different camps, including the one that always happens in January every year for children who are in the Ugandan education system. Another camp is for those children in Diaspora.
