Vision Group marked a good start to the first outing of the Corporate Sports Network season in football on Sunday at Maroons Sports Grounds inside Luzira Prisons by picking up eight points from the possible twelve after four games.

The two victories were registered against Uganda Revenue Authority and Roofings Group whereas the spoils were shared with DFCU Bank and Housing Finance Bank.

Spencer Nakacwa was Vision Group's match winner over URA where she scored the only important goal.

Kasim Bijju rescued a point against DFCU Bank when he scored the equaliser in the second half to finish 1-1.

Bijju was on the score sheet again in our 3-2 comeback win over Roofings Group, netting one goal and the other two scored were by Julius Elungat and Charles Otime.

Vision Group head of sports and captain Julius Kafuluma was happy with the performance of the team and urged his fellow players to keep training to stay fit to be more competitive in the second outing which he believes is going to be tougher because all teams will be fully charged.

“Two wins and two draws are not a bad start, but we need to work hard, minimize the mistakes we make or avoid them completely in the next outing, but in general the performance has been good,” noted Kafuluma.

Simeone Bulezi, the chairperson of the Corporate Sports Network promised to set up kids' playing areas in the next outing and encouraged Corporates not to leave children behind.

"It has been a successful start of the Corporate Sports Network's first outing, having all these big companies on board on the first day speaks volumes, and we are so grateful to all of them," Bulezi

"More are still coming and we promise better games, where there is transparency and respect for everyone. "And to the Corporates, please come with your kids next time, because are going to set up playing areas for them as well."

Over 30 corporate companies took part in this outing where they competed in football only but organisers promised to introduce other disciplines in the next outing scheduled for April 28th still in Luzira.
