In this day and age, there is really no excuse for shabby grooms. Gone are the days when people would attend weddings and only look at brides and their Cinderella gowns.

These days, grooms, too, receive a lot of attention from the invited guests. At the Bride & Groom Expo, most male expo-goers were interested in blazers that match their looks.

Doreen Namugenyi, the managing director at The Looks Bespoke, one of the sponsors of this year’s expo says men, too, need to look smart on their special day.

“As a groom, you enter the church first before the bride, so all eyes are on you. Thus, a tailor-made suit which perfectly fits is what you need,’’ she says.

“A suit for introduction ceremony (kwanjula) should not be the one being used at the wedding. The latter needs to be classy and fancy compared to the former which is sometimes worn with a kanzu,’’ she adds. She also says that grooms with a dark complexion should spice up their looks with brighter colours which can be done by using experienced tailors and cutting masters for best results. Grooms to be who visited the Expo were assured of some discounts.

Tushabe Samuel an expo goer from Kanyanya says he came to see different trends of male blazers he will use at his introduction.

“I have fallen in love with what I have seen at the expo and am sure I am going to get the best for my function,” he noted.
