A man whom senior security personnel have identified as Howard Openjuru, has been nabbed in Njeru, Buikwe.

The alleged leader of the rebel Allied Uganda Homeland Liberation Force/Movement was picked up during a joint security operation this afternoon.

Openjuru was arrested alongside five other male associates. A fugitive after escaping Police detention, he is also accused of the murder of a policeman and attacks on UPDF forces in Paidha Zombo.

After the attack in July this year, some of his fighters are said to have fled into DR Congo.
