COURT | CRIME | SSEGIRINYA
KAMPALA - Kawempe North MP Mohammad Ssegirinya has been produced before court on new charges of inciting violence.
According to the charge by the State, between August and September last year, Ssegirinya through his Facebook page in the name of Mr.Update allegedly said that there was a plot to assassinate then NUP presidential candidate Bobi Wine, warning of genocide like it was in Rwanda in 1994 if there was no restraint.
The State Attorney Judith Nyamwiiza told Court that she had not been furnished with the file by the police, which prompted Ssegirinya's lawyer Shamim Malende to apply bail for him.
Segirinya who was attending Court from Kigo Prison via video conferencing pleaded not guilty of the charges.
It was on this note that the Buganda Road Court Doreen Karungi adjourned the matter to October 29, 2021 when it will come up for mention and bail application.
