A prominent businesswoman in Rukungiri town died on the way to the hospital after she was involved in a motor accident while traveling with her husband.
 
The accident, according to the police happened on September 28 at Kampala town along the Kanungu-Rukungiri road.

According to the Kigezi region police spokesman Elly Maate, the deceased was identified as Hope Ekyasiimire who was travelling in a car driven by her husband Bernard Owoyesigyire who also sustained serious injuries. 

Maate said the accident that occurred at 8 pm involved motor vehicle registration no. UAL273T Mark II, black in colour. 
 
Ekyasiimire was the only passenger and she died on the way to Nyakibale hospital where she was being rushed for treatment.  

Maate said the police were notified and reached the scene.  A police officer, AIP Amara Godfrey led the personnel who managed the scene and towed away the motor vehicle to Kambuga police station as they commenced inquiries to ascertain the cause of the accident.
