KAMPALA - The man suspected to have attacked local musician Moses Sekibogo aka Mowzey Radio, resulting in his eventual death, has been remanded to Kigo Prison in Wakiso district.

Godfrey Wamala, aka Troy, was remanded after he was arraigned in Entebbe Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

Murder charges were read to him by the Entebbe Chief Magistrate, Mary Kaitesi Lukwago, according to a statement from the Judiciary ministry.

Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, said Wamala was arrested on Sunday from his hideout in Kyengera in Wakiso district.

Wamala, who is a resident of Nsangi in Wakiso, will return to court on February 26.

It is alleged that Wamala grabbed Mowzey, 34, and threw him to the floor, fracturing his skull in the process.

This followed a brawl that reportedly resulted from the singer allegedly opening a bottle of whisky and pouring it on revelers in the bar.

Mowzey Radio, who had released over 250 hits during his music career, was laid to rest at his home at Kagga in Nakawuka, Wakiso last Saturday.
