The Buganda Road Court has given the Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago until January 10, 2019 to produce Pastor David Ngabo's wife Sandra Katebreirwe in court, pays sh50m or be jailed at Luzira Prison

Lukwago stood surety for Katebareirwe. Katebareirwe has a warrant of arrest hanging over her head for declining to turn up in court seven times.

On Thursday morning, Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Mariam Ayo also gave a last chance to   Benon Mugerwa and Henry Ssempijja, who were present   in court and ordered them to produce Katebareirwe in court on the said date, execute sh50m or be jailed.

Mugerwa and Ssempijja were granted a non-cash bail of sh50m for standing surety for Katebareirwe last year.

On September 24, Lukwago survived the warrant of arrest after sending his lawyer Nathan Mpagi, who informed court that he (Lukwago) was out of the country on official duties.

The senior state attorney Jonathan Muwaganya asked court to issue a warrant of arrest against Lukwago because he has never appeared in court and an international warrant of arrest against Katebareirwe be extended.

This prompted the magistrate to extend Katebareirwe's international warrant of arrest and gave a last chance to the three sureties and adjourned the case to January 10, next year.

Two months back the sureties were summoned to appear at court to show cause why they should not forfeit the said bond for failing to honor their duty as sureties.

On September 3, the Buganda Road Magistrate court issued both International and local warrant of arrest against Katebareirwe, accused of defrauding a Chinese national sh200m.

The wife of Pastor David Ngabo appeared before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate James Ereemye last year on charges of fleecing a Chinese national of sh200m.

She was charged with obtaining money by false pretence, forgery and uttering false documents and she denied all the charges.

iN 2011, Katebareirwe contested for mayor of Kampala. She lost to Erias Lukwago.
