Buganda Road magistrate court has issued criminal summons against a pastor’s wife over sh200m fraud from a Chinese national.

Sandra Katebarairwe, 40, the wife of Pastor David Ngabo, appeared before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate James Ereemye last year on charges of fleecing a Chinese national of sh200m.

She was charged with obtaining money by false pretence, forgery and uttering false documents and she denied all the charges.

On Tuesday, when the case came up for judgement one of the sureties informed court that Katebarairwe was out of the country and is expected to be back at the end of next month.

This prompted the grade one magistrate Charles Yeteise to adjourn the case to August 31 and issued criminal summons against her.

“You are hereby commanded by the Uganda government to appear in court on August 31, 2018 at 9am or soon thereafter as the case can be heard,” he warned.

It is alleged that on July 8, 2016 at Rwenzori Towers in Nakasero, Katebarairwe and others defrauded Wu-WeiLing of Mama Mia Investments of $68,530 (about sh240m) under the guise that they would rent him space at Imperial Botanical Shopping Mall whereas not.

Last year Katebarairwe appeared before the same court on similar charges of defrauding the same person.

It is alleged that on June 2, 2016 Katebarairwe, fraudulently obtained sh192m from one WeiLing by falsely pretending she would offer him rooms for rent.
