 UGANDA DECIDES 2026 

The Electoral Commission has said it will announce the final results of Uganda's 2026 presidential elections at 3pm today (January 17).

In the Saturday morning update, EC chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama said the total number of polling stations from which they had tallied results was 47,299, representing 93.61% of the total number of polling stations across the country. 

At the time, the incumbent, President Yoweri Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), had garnered 7,643,778 votes, which was 71.88% of the valid votes counted by then.

The other presidential candidates had received the following votes:

▪️ Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu of the National Unity Platform (NUP): 2,601,150 votes (24.46%)
▪️ James Nathan Nandala Mafabi of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC): 202,802 votes (1.91%)
▪️ Gregory Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National Transformation (ANT): 57,019 votes (0.45%)
▪️ Frank Bulira Kabinga of Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP): 44,328, votes (0.42%)
▪️ Robert Kasibante of the National Peasants Party (NPP): 32,224  votes (0.30%)
▪️Mubarak Munyagwa of Common Man's Party (CMP): 30,509 votes (0.29%)
▪️Joseph Mabirizi of the Conservative Party (CP): 22, 274 (0.21%)
