Most clubs in the Uganda Premier League and Ugandan sports in general, continue to face significant challenges in securing lucrative sponsorships and partnerships.

Feedback from potential sponsors points to a lack of professionalism, weak marketing strategies, and inconsistent performance as key deterrents.

In contrast, Vipers SC, reigning champions of both the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup for the 2024/2025 season, stand out as a model of success. Backed by major sponsors like Plascon and Hima Cement, Vipers have shown how strong performance, professional management, and star talent can attract and retain high-value sponsorships.

He also reaffirmed Plascon’s broader commitment to Ugandan sports: “We have a substantial sports budget and welcome partnerships with other clubs, athletes, and disciplines. We’re already involved in football, netball, and tennis, and we’re looking to expand.”

Vipers captain Milton Karisa, who will lead the team in next season’s CAF Champions League, credited the club’s leadership and sponsor support as key motivators.

“As captain, it’s a privilege to be here with our sponsors. Mr. Gumte’s message inspires us to push harder. We want to make him, our president Lawrence Mulindwa, and our fans proud. I thank God for the amazing season we had,” Karisa said.
