Weatherhead Historical forward Fatuma Namubiru is taking over the mantle of steering her side to greater heights in the National Hockey League after netting a hattrick in a 6-1 win over Thunders.

Having been out of action for most of last season due to injury, Namubiru bounced back from injury and has given her side confidence.

“I am glad that I bring more momentum in the squad and that we are on track to improve our performance by winning each of our next games as well as defending well,” Namubiru stated.

She noted this in an interview with Vision Sports as she assessed her side’s performance against Thunders Hockey Club.

Namubiru scored a hat-trick in the 45th, 52nd, and 53rd minute of the game, Lydia Dhamuzungu, Maureen Kazoora, and Stellamaris Nankinga all scored a goal each in the game.

This team is getting better and hard to get past them. 

“It feels good. However, I am not yet in complete good shape as I should be or as I expect to be. I am slowly making a comeback this year insha Allah,” Namubiru noted.

Historicals also brought in new players on teams such as Stella Maris Nankinga, a student of Kakungul Memorial SS, and Fortunate Nabifo.

The three points propelled Historicals to fourth place with five points. Swans are in first place with nine points, HDF and Wananchi in second and third respectively with six points each separated by goal average.
