Weatherhead Hockey Club registered the biggest score over the weekend as the National Hockey League raged on at the Lugogo Hockey pitch.
Brian Okodi scored eight, Topher Kyamanywa six, and Collines Batuusa four, while Arnold Kasumba, Ian Aine, and Moses Tushabe added two and a goal each as Weatherhead obliterated Wananchi Wabalozi 22-0.
The Thunders edged the Weatherhead Titans 3-2, with Muhammad Babu, Felix Ssendagire, and Mohammed Sebuliba getting on the score sheet for the Thunders in the Saturday fixtures. Emmanuel Wabuyaka and Abraham Kampororo scored the Titans consolations.
In the women’s division, Kampala Hockey Club beat Makerere University 3-0 with Sarah Arinaitwe’s first-half strike complemented by Pauline Ninsiima and Carol Aguti’s second-half strikes.

The Weatherhead women also walloped the Weatherhead Diamonds 8-1 with Martina Amito and Hildah Star Balondemu notching a hat-trick each as Anitah Atim and Thuwaibah Kiggundu added one apiece.
On Sunday the Wanainchi women thumped the Thunders 12-0, the same score Wananchi HDF scored against the Deliverance Church of Uganda.
In the other men’s games, Makerere University beat the Rockets 3-1, the Badgers lost 6-1 to the Wananchi SC, and Kampala HC beat the Kampala HC Originals 6-1. Jordan Mpiima and Richard Ssemwogerere scored a brace each as Ernest Musumba and Alfred Agaba added a goal each for Kampala who remain second on the log with 21 points. Wananchi HC remains top with 25 points from nine games played.
