Many football clubs in Uganda continue to face challenges in securing sponsorship deals, largely due to inconsistent on-field performance, lack of professional conduct, poor leadership, and inadequate marketing strategies.

In contrast, Vipers stands out as a model club in the Uganda Premier League (UPL), boasting a strong number of sponsors, including Plascon, Hima Cement, and Hardware World, among others.

During Vipers' crowning moment as 2024/2025 UPL champions at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende last week, Hima Cement Brand Manager Joan Kitawona expressed pride in the partnership and hinted at broader plans to support more Ugandan clubs.

“I want to congratulate Vipers for winning the UPL title. They are a magnificent club, and on behalf of my bosses, we are proud to be associated with them,” Kitawona said. “We promise to continue our partnership and remain committed to supporting sports development in Uganda.”

On the same occasion, Vipers president Lawrence Mulindwa rewarded the players with sh200m for their title-winning efforts and pledged to give them the sh60m league cash prize once it is disbursed to the club.

“Our dear fans, thank you for turning up in large numbers, this trophy is yours,” Mulindwa said during the celebrations. “I also want to thank our players. We are here because of their dedication and performance. As a token of appreciation, I am giving them sh200m.”

Midfielder Allan Okello also received a personal reward of sh5m for finishing the season as the league’s top scorer with 19 goals in 30 matches.

Looking ahead, Mulindwa further promised the players an additional sh50m reward if they win the Uganda Cup final against KCCA, scheduled for this Saturday this week.
