The trio made the cut tied in 12th position out of the 20 that will partake in the sh24m prize money but must now push for even better finishes in the remaining two rounds to brighten their chances of qualifying for the lucrative Magical Kenya Open next month.

Ugandan professional golfers Rodel Gaita, Ronald Rugumayo, and Phillip Kasozi made the cut as this season's Safari Tour golf tournament raged on at the Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi on Monday.

The trio made the cut tied in 12th position out of the 20 that will partake in the sh24m prize money but must now push for even better finishes in the remaining two rounds to brighten their chances of qualifying for the lucrative Magical Kenya Open next month.

Of the three, Kasozi is better placed to qualify if he can push for a top-three finish in this leg. Unfortunately, the best-placed Ugandans that were in contention for one of the slots for the non-Kenyans, David Kamulindwa and Abraham Ainamani did not make the cut at this leg just like Zimbabwean Visitor Mapwanya who leads the non-Kenyans on 125 points. Kamulindwa and Ainamani are on 111 and 104 points respectively; over 100 points away from the leader Dismas Indiza who leads the standings with 213 points. It remains to be seen whether Kasozi who is on 70 points can leapfrog Kamulindwa after this leg.

The top eight Kenyan nationals and two foreign pros at the end of all the tours will get a chance to compete alongside established professionals in the sh4b-Prize-Money-European Tour Magical Kenya Open slated for February 22-25.

Kenyans Kibugu Njoroge and Frank Matilo were in pole after the opening two rounds with two left to finish.
