Ssemuddu to lead Uganda's boxing team to All-Africa Games

Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) has confirmed a final National boxing team for this year’s African Games slated for March 8t to 23 in Ghana.

The team en route to Ghana, has seven elite boxers both men and women, and will be led by light middleweight Muzamir ‘Mr Take Over’ Ssemuddu.

Others include welterweight Owen Kibira, light welterweight Innocent Amoko, featherweight Kassim Murungi and flyweight Innocent Tumusime, welterweight Erinah Namutebi, and Featherweight Sharua Ndagire.

Only Amoko and Tumusiime are debutants.

They will be under coaches Patrick Lihanda and Juma Nsubuga.

Lihanda who is also the UBF vice-president in charge of technical matters is optimistic his squad is capable of winning medals in Ghana.

The bombers will come into this year’s 13th edition of the Africa Games having won three medals, two silver, and a bronze at the last edition in Rabat, Morocco.

Then, featherweight Isaac Masembe and middleweight David ‘The Animal’ Ssemujju clinched silver medals apiece before middleweight Hellen Baleke bagged a bronze.
