SMACK vs. Buddo

St. Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) will rely on the leadership of Crescent Muchunguzi (centre), Melvin Natangaza (prop), and Lamot Magali (winger) as they host Kings College Budo in the return leg of the Schools Rugby Premiership semi-final.

SMACK, who lost 26-16 to Budo in the first leg, are determined to overturn the deficit in what promises to be an electrifying encounter. Every point will be crucial, and the performance of kicker Daniel Musyoka could prove decisive.

However, Budo is equally prepared for the challenge. Coach Brian Makalama has warned his team against complacency, emphasizing the importance of staying focused.

“It’s not over yet. Our goal is to reach the final, but there’s a tough task ahead. SMACK are title contenders, and we respect them. We’ve addressed our mistakes from the first leg, and I expect the boys to execute our game plan effectively,” Makalama said.

Budo captain Elijah Kantinti will need to lead by example, ensuring his teammates maintain their four-point advantage and secure a spot in the final.

In the other semi-final, Namilyango College, known as The Fumblers, will host Makerere College. Namilyango dominated the first leg with a resounding 48-0 victory, but coach Emmanuel Walakira has urged his team not to take anything for granted.

“We’re approaching this game with full strength and determination. We’re focused on securing another win,” Walakira said.

Before the U20 semi-finals, U17 and U15 category matches will take place at all venues, adding to the day’s excitement.

The stage is set for a thrilling Sunday of school rugby action as teams battle for a place in the finals.
