FUFA Women Super League title favourites She Corporate and Kampala Queens meet for the first time this season today at MUBS Arena in Nakawa in a highly anticipated clash.

Kampala Queens are aiming to make it two wins in two and also opening up a five point gap between them and She Corporate who dropped two points on match day one against Makerere University in a 1-1 stalemate.

The Queens were ruthless against newly promoted Asubo Gafford Ladies on day one whom they thrashed 5-0 at IUIU grounds Kabojja.

To date, Kampala Queens haven't healed from the title loss they suffered last season to champions She Corporate by a one-goal difference after they tied on points.

The final match of the season that decided the title was on this ground and She Corporate managed to force Kampala Queens to a goalless draw to be crowned champions.

The two have been so busy in the transfer market, strengthening their squads to challenge each other for the title.

Each Club has signed close to nine players but it is Kampala Queens who have signed highly profiled ones such as Hasifa Nassuna and Sumaya Komuntale both of who were part of the Crested Cranes team in the Women's Africa Cup Of Nations Morocco in July.

In terms of fitness and sharpness on both sides, Kampala Queens is superior to She Corporate.

This is so because She Corporate since the end of last season have never had time to rest as they immediately took part in the CAF Women's Champions League qualifiers up to the final where they lost to Simba Queens.

For Kampala Queens, they have had enough time of resting and against Asubo Gafford Ladies, they looked sharper and fresh.

Speaking to the media on Friday, coaches on both sides expressed their sides' readiness for today's showdown.

Hassan Isa, the head coach of She Corporate said that his side can't afford to drop more points today as it will give Kampala Queens a big lead on top of the summit which could later be difficult to close.

“We dropped points in our first game against Makerere because of a few mistakes, we have corrected them and we are ready to get our first win,”

“We cannot afford to lose to them as this will widen the gap between us and which will be hard to close later in the season, thus we must win or avoid defeat,” stated Isa.

Because of spending too much money on Nassuna from UCU, Kampala Queens have been nicknamed “The Big Spenders”, their head coach Asimilah Kato warned his players not to be carried away but rather use to it silence their critics to get maximum points.

“We are less concerned about what people call us, our target remains to win all our games to be champions, I, therefore, urge my players not to be taken by this cheap talk and go for maximum points,” stated Kato.

On Saturday, Makerere University through Daphine Nalubowa's goal edged Lady Doves away in Masindi.

At Kabaka Kyabaggu grounds in Wakiso, UCU beat Rines SS 2-0 in their first game of the season having missed the opening day due to the absence of Kawempe Muslim SS who are in the East Africa Secondary School games.

Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga made it two wins out of two games beating Asubo Gafford Ladies 5-3 in a thrilling encounter.

The Martyrs now top the standings having won their first game 2-0 against Rines SS.

On the other hand, Asubo Gafford Ladies have now conceded 10 goals in two games, they lost 5-0 to Kampala Queens and now 5-3 to Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga.
