Olympians Shadir Musa Bwogi and David Ssemujju cruised to their second professional boxing victories when they defeated Henry Kasujja and Samali Ntambi respectively.

The two fighters signed under 12 Sports Rounds Boxing Promotions and were returning to the ring on April 1 this year when they made their professional debuts.

On the night, both fighters had a different tale of a story in the way they sealed their victories.

While it took Ssemujju only two minutes to seal his first-round professional knockout over Ntambi, Shadir laboured up to the final bell to defeat a resilient Kasujja on a majority decision.

Shadir as he is commonly known in the boxing circles survived a shocker when he was matched byKasujja for the entire five-round thriller in a filled MTN Arena Lugogo.

The former national boxing team captain had to rely on his experience to overcome debutant Kasujja who threw hundreds of punches on the day.

There were some tense moments when Kasujja put Shadir on the ropes and countered him with several upper hooks although they did less harm to him.

On the scorecard, Judges ruled in Shadir’s favour awarding him 56-54, 58-52, and 57-57 points to win on a majority decision.

“I thank God for this sweet victory. It wasn't an easy one but a win remains a win, my opponent was equally good and I commend him for putting up a good show,” Shadir said.

“My next fight will probably be in October and I’m ready for anyone. I thank my fans and management who have helped me a lot in training and can’t wait to return to the ring.”

In the other fight, Ssemujju eased past Busoga-based Ntambi who looked unfit and a mismatch for the 2019 Africa Games middleweight silver medalist.

Before stepping into the ring, psychologically, Ntambi had looked like an already beaten man, he had delayed for over ten minutes to enter the ring, and no wonder within two-minute, Ssemujju had completed his assault on him.

“It is so disappointing that I have been training so hard for the last two months for someone like Ntambi, imagine he has failed to finish a round with me” Ssemujju stated after this fight.

On the day’s undercard fights, sensation John Sserunjogi defeated Ignatius in another blockbuster, Saul Male alias Saul ku Zai won Kamada Ntege ‘Sure fire’, and Isaac Ssebuufu beat Farahat Manilola among others.
