No man can hide from his fears since they are part of him, they always know where to find him’ goes a lyric in one of the late Lucky Dube’s songs.

And yes, Nyamityobora FC’s problems have persisted and followed them to the regional league where the club now plays, after being relegated from the FUFA Big League last season.

Nyamityobora that played in the top flight during the 2018/19 season but later dropped to the second tier after a single season, is still facing the same old hiccups.

Notwithstanding the 3-1 loss at home to visiting Six O’Clock in their first Western region league outing, the club has been left in the hands of a few enthusiastic supporters as administrators, the club diehards in Immaculate Ahimbisibwe as club chairperson, Mashood Kaweesi as head coach and Saddam Mugalu as CEO.

The trio managed to mobilise a team of 16 players that turned up for the league opener and official opening of the newly renovated grounds but Nyamityobora still lost.

“Nyamityobora has not died off, the people who love the club are still around and supporting in whichever way they can. We shall keep on, we shall not let go as many think and wish,” said Ahimbisibwe.

Nyamityobora were relegated from the second tier last season following a season marred with severe financial problems that saw management change hands multiple times

The lacklustre performances were capped by 9-1 and 6-0 home and away drubbings at the hands of Kyetume before club leaders Ali Ssekatawa (patron) and Ben Misagga (president) resigned.
