Ronnie Eletu, head coach of Olila Women’s FC, is determined to bounce back from Saturday’s 3–1 defeat to Kawempe Muslim Ladies with a stronger performance as his side prepares to face Makerere University WFC on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Makerere Grounds.
The Soroti-based club struggled in their second match of the ongoing Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women’s Super League, missing the crucial support of their home crowd at Olila Women’s Ground.
“We didn’t play well against Kawempe Muslim and deserved to lose the three points,” Eletu admitted.

Eletu, who took over the reins last season following the resignation of Cifu Pande in August 2024, warned that a repeat of Saturday’s performance could spell serious trouble for the team.
“We don’t want to suffer the same embarrassment we did at home. We failed to capitalize on our chances, but this time we’ll shift our focus to Makerere University in our third game of the league,” he added.
Team captain Mary Lotyang Elganda described the loss as a wake-up call, saying it has motivated the squad to work harder and remain united in their pursuit of victory.
Kawempe’s win marked the end of their six-match winless streak against Olila WFC. The hosts had taken the lead early in the second half through Brenda Atwani, sending fans into celebration. But Kawempe responded swiftly—Shadia Nabirye equalized in the 66th minute, followed by Agnes Nabukenya’s go-ahead goal just two minutes later.

The final blow came from Latifa Nakasi, affectionately known as the “new bay” of the Warriors, who sealed the win in the 76th minute with a brilliant finish, capping off a dominant second-half display.
The victory propelled Kawempe WFC to the top of the table with four points, while Olila WFC suffered their first-ever home defeat to the Kampala-based side.
Kawempe head coach Khalifah Ayubu expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, especially against the Teso-based club, and praised his players’ determination. He also turned his attention to their next fixture against St. Noa Girls-Zana FC on Sunday.
Elsewhere in the league, Rines WFC were left frustrated after a goalless draw with a resilient Asubo Ladies side. Defending champions Kampala Queens WFC showcased their trademark resilience, coming from behind to defeat Makerere University Ladies 2–1 at Lugogo.
