Oilers can still 'get a win or two' - Okello
Apr 24, 2024
Al Ahly are 3-0 and have already punched their playoff ticket. The Oilers are 0-3 and although, in theory, they can still qualify, in reality, Karim Nesba’s side look incapable of such an escape. A win, however, may be within reach. Possibly.

The City Oilers take on Basketball Africa League (BAL) defending champions and home favourites Al Ahly today as a campaign that has brought no joy draws closer to its conclusion.
Al Ahly are 3-0 and have already punched their playoff ticket. The Oilers are 0-3 and although, in theory, they can still qualify, in reality, Karim Nesba’s side look incapable of such an escape. A win, however, may be within reach. Possibly.
“We can still get a win or two,” Oilers captain James Okello told New Vision Sports.
“It has been a tough campaign, but I believe we can still get something. It is not over.”
Okello’s conviction stems from the feeling that for all their weaknesses, the Oilers have not played to their full potential. And if they do, anything is possible.
In Al Ahly, the Oilers face opponents who always operate at an elite clip, who won the two sides encounter five days ago by 23 points. Beating Julbe Bosch’s side is nigh on impossible, but the Oilers will be hoping for a more competitive display.
