Ngora High School has confirmed its full preparedness to host the 2025 USSSA National Secondary Schools Ball Games I championship, set to welcome 7,000 participants, spectators, and coaches from May 5-15.
Head Teacher Elphazi Opolot Ewalu assured Vision Sports that all necessary facilities are in place, including: 10 football pitches,classroom accommodations,reliable water and sanitation systems, medical services and security provisions.
"Everything is ready for the competition," Opolot stated, noting that local businesses from Ngora and neighboring districts have already secured vending spaces.
Ngora District Inspector of Schools Milton Okuna expressed pride in hosting the boys' football event (with girls' competitions at Bukedea Comprehensive School), highlighting ongoing coordination between district authorities, school management, and USSSA officials to ensure proper accommodation, medical services, and sanitation.

Security remains a top priority, according to Assistant Resident Commissioner Andrew Ogirot Anapa. "We're deploying officers at all playing venues and accommodations," he said, announcing nighttime movement restrictions for participants to facilitate security patrols.
Peter Okwii, Ngora High School's Sports Director, emphasized the district's superior playing fields, confident they'll provide an ideal stage for Uganda's top school athletes. With final preparations complete, Ngora awaits the nation's young sporting talent for what promises to be a memorable 10-day championship.
