The Nile Special National Pool Open draws took place on Tuesday at Adi’s Spot on Kireka Namugongo Road.
Historically, the process of drawing players has been time-consuming, but this time it concluded in seconds. The draws were conducted swiftly using a computer system, ensuring both the men's and women's draws were handled efficiently.
As with all previous draws, the top seed and the second seed can only meet in the grand finale. However, the competition will be fierce for the two Mark X cars awarded to both the men's and women's champions. "Most pool players are young people, and we believe these cars will give them bragging rights. We also wanted to ensure that both women and men could drive the same car in the spirit of equality," stated Pool Association of Uganda Vice Chairman James Mwere.
Previously, the women drove away in the Raum while the men drove away in the Mark X.
The male winner will receive sh5m, while the female winner will take home sh3m. The first runner-up in the men's category will receive sh3m and a pool table, while the women's runner-up will receive sh2m and a pool table. Third place will take home sh2m for men and sh1m for women, along with a pool table. Every player in the grand finale is entitled to a new branded cue stick.
Tickets will cost sh25,000 for regular and sh50,000 for VIP.
