Ceasar Chandiga clinched his second Nile Special National Open Pool Championship title after defeating Rashid Wagaba in a thrilling 9–4 victory at the grand finale held at Lugogo Arena.

His ability to remain calm under pressure proved decisive, enabling him to outlast and outplay every opponent he faced.

 

“It has been a tough journey from the word go. I was very confident from the start. I wouldn’t really promise that I’m going to defend, but I will do my best,” Chandiga reflected after his triumph.

 

In the women’s category, Rashida Mutesi captured her first National Open title by defeating defending champion Marion Kisakye. Mutesi’s victory ended years of heartbreak, as she finally broke through after two previous defeats in the grand finale.

 

Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) chairman Bob Trubish expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of this year’s championship.

“Congratulations to our winners, Rashida Mutesi, who is finally a National Open Champion, and Ceasar Chandiga, who joins Fahad Ssewankambo, Jonan ‘Joker’ Turigye, and Bwaniika as two-time champions. Hard luck to Wagaba and Marion,” Trubish stated.
